Review of Band/Orchestra Concert

By Michael Pugmire. The Band/Orchestra Concert was on May 1st and it was great. There was energy, passion, and precision in every song. “The Pink Panther,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Sesame Street Theme”, “Salute to Glenn Miller”, and “Blue Bossa” were jazzy, upbeat and fun. The slower songs like “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” “Only Hope,” “Gospel Inflections,” “Halo,” and “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” were slower, more emotional, and had a more melancholy feel, yet they carried their own kind of beauty in their notes.

The ensemble solo performances were also enjoyable. They all showed precise timing on the notes, were fun songs to jam out to, and had talented people performing them. All in all, it was a fantastic show, and next year’s show is one to look forward to.
