Swimmers Take Your Marks – BEEP! On the ninth, the Heritage Heroes Swim Team had their second meet. The girls team finished first with 59 points, and the boys team second with 43 in their respective divisions. All swimmers came and swam their fastest, breaking personal records and putting improved technique into practice.
Both the girls and boys ‘A’ teams for the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay finished in first and second place in both events! In the 50-yard freestyle, Heritage had three girls and five boys compete, all of whom finished strongly. The 100-yard backstrokers, Sidney Taylor and Dayson Durfee, both dropped an entire second off of their previous official times. Kalissa Wilson raced in the 200 IM, finishing in third place. In his first meet, Mathew McCurdy swam in three events, two relays and one individual and did great! Also for the first time, Angie Shoemaker competed in the 500-yard butterfly and had fantastic form! During the relays and other events, there were many people on the deck cheering; the noise was almost frightening!
All in all, the Heroes swam with great form and speed – all of those hours of practice must be paying off! They are all proud of their performances and can’t wait to continue competing!
